Cheers to What’s Next

This time of year is always an opportunity to reflect on what has transpired over the past twelve months. For me, it was a year filled with significant life changes. My sister and a close friend were both challenged by cancer diagnoses. My job was eliminated and I have yet to find another—and oh yeah, I decided to start my own bath and body company.

Trying to get your own business off the ground is far more work than you can imagine, even when you know it’s going to be hard. This past year marked my first full twelve months working on my business, and I suppose you could say the master plan worked out since I had plenty of time to focus on that business.

As a creator, it really makes you step out of your comfort zone to create something and put it out into the world for others to consume. Creators spend time learning their craft and pour their personalities and souls into everything they make. There is no better feeling than when customers truly love your products.

Over the past year, I’ve learned a lot about myself and my business. I’m incredibly grateful for all the wonderful people I’ve had the opportunity to meet and speak with, as well as the fellow vendors who have been kind and generous in sharing their experiences.

As I look ahead, I feel both excited and scared about this next chapter and what it may bring. Sometimes opportunities look like the end of the road, when in reality they’re just a fork in the path. The unknown is stressful—but it’s also where growth happens. Embrace the pivot and move forward with gusto. That’s exactly what I’m planning for 2026.
